Music to draw to

What would your life be like without music?

Very boring and very quiet, is the short answer.

Music has played a massive part in my life, not as a musician but as a fan. I did attempt to become a musician of some kind as a kid, with my painful rendition of Stairway to Heaven on the family piano. However after many, many hours it became apparent that I wasn’t a natural. So I decided to become an avid fan instead.

Music became something that inspired my art, creating psychedelic swampy mock up band and concert posters while listening to bands like the Scientists, The Cramps, The Pixies and the Beasts of Bourbon. And even to this day I get motivated by the same style of music. It allows me to get right into the art and helps me find my flow to create, like the energy of the music transfers to the art. I know that sounds a bit… you know… woo woo crazy but it definitely gets me in the groove and keeps me motivated – Here’s my playlist 👉🏼 Music to Draw to on Spotify

I also think that it’s no surprise that music has helped lift the spirits of workers and helped them all work on time. Music has helped stories pass through generations and it stirs something very primal within us like the rhythmic beating of our hearts. Music is something that can turn a boring cinematic experience into something, sad, tragic, scary or funny. It’s like a direct line to our emotions. So it’s no wonder that the right music can even lift us out of a depression. Music is a truly wonderful gift to humans.
