Love the process

Things that you create or achieve as a human being often become those things that you are proud of in your life. As a creator or a thriving artist I can also say that I’m proud of myself for getting back to my creative roots and stubbornly sticking with it. I think the greatest reward you receive for creating art is the sense of purpose and calm you gain from being creatively engaged with the world around you.

I’m proud of the creative things that I’ve put out into the world from short films, to kids books, to even wooden boats… yes I used to build wooden boats. But the fondness I look back on these achievements with are not for the finished product, but for the memories those creations represent. All of these creations represent a different time in my life. Different struggles and successes. I think this highlights the fact that you should celebrate and enjoy the journey. Love the process and don’t get so fixated on the end result being tied to your happiness.
