Take your artistic career to the moon!

How much would you pay to go to the moon?

I wouldn’t pay any money to go to the moon. Because I think we have an abundance of amazing things right here on earth to explore. Also the expense and resources that it would take to get to the moon would be better spent preserving the precious and fragile ecosystems we have here on earth.

This same idea applies to marketing your artwork or any marketing in general.

People are obsessed with acquiring new customers. It seems to be the only metric that matters to most artists and marketers. I would suggest that it’s equally or even more important to nurture the clients, collectors and customers that you already have. Treat them like royalty and word of mouth will eventually get out and start to naturally gain you more customers anyway.

I think thriving artists are grateful for their collectors, are grateful for their email subscribers and treat them like valued friends, they open conversations with them. Give to them when they can and surprise and delight them on a regular basis. Look after the world – your artistic community – and they will look after you.

So instead of blasting off into the unknown burning up expensive resources. Let’s turn the rocket ship around and be grateful for where you are and who is part of your world already… and take your artistic career to the moon!
