Invent a holiday! Explain how and why everyone should celebrate.
After coming up with the idea of international art day, I can’t believe this isn’t an actual thing. Of course international art day would be a public holiday and people would celebrate by creating and sharing their art with the world.
After my recent discoveries of how great creating art is for your mental health, imagine what such a positive state of mind shared worldwide would do for the planet… and this is just the creation of the art.
The sharing of international art, and the stories that attach themselves to the art would help all the people of planet earth understand each other. Even if they don’t agree, windows would open up, conversations would open up. Then eventually after maybe hundreds of years of international art days, we may finally find world peace… maybe. As all the people of the world discover that we all share similar wants, loves and desires. Yes I’m a hippy and can’t understand why people just can’t get along. And I think international art day would be a step in the right direction.
I know what you’re thinking… actually I don’t, but, you might be thinking but, but, but I’m not an artist. To which I’d answer that everyone is an artist. It’s not about technical execution and mastering technique, it’s about expression. Kids can express themselves, and if kids can do it you can do it to. You just need to not care about what you have been told is good art and what isn’t.
Pick up a pen, a crayon, a paintbrush, a fistful of mud and express yourself. Lose yourself in art, get in the flow of creativity and reap the rewards and share it with the world.
The first international art day is on the 7 of January 2024. Which just happens to be my 50th birthday because… it’s gotta be some date. I look forward to seeing your art.

Brilliant Andy! I love this

Great idea – It’s in the calendar! Let’s see if we can make it a thing – a few viral tiktoks and retweets should do the trick!
