Pull you’re socks up

I’m thrilled to announce a new venture in my creative journey: custom socks featuring my own patterns! My first lot of socks showcases my ant wallpaper, which I cleverly extracted from the background of my aardvark artwork in the kids’ book Uncommon Animals of the Alphabet. It’s a perfect example of how everything I draw tends to have endless uses, constantly repurposing old art to create something new and exciting.

The process of turning my art into wearable items has been very entertaining. Socks are such a fun and practical canvas for creativity. There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing a piece of my artwork transformed into a functional item that people can wear and enjoy daily. Plus, the idea of my art keeping someone’s feet cozy and stylish is just too delightful.

As I dive into this new project, it’s clear that my passion for repurposing art is paying off. The ant wallpaper, originally just a background detail, has taken on a life of its own. It’s a reminder that creativity knows no bounds and that there’s always potential to breathe new life into old designs.

What are you most worried about for the future?

But amidst all this excitement, I can’t help but worry about the future—specifically, the environment and all the creatures within it. This concern has been a driving force behind much of my work, including the creation of Uncommon Animals of the Alphabet. I believe that by raising awareness of the wild and wonderfully diverse creatures we share the planet with, we can inspire others to treat them with dignity and grace and strive to preserve their habitats.

Far too many animals are going extinct on our watch, and it’s heartbreaking. Each creature, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, plays a crucial role in the delicate balance of our ecosystems. Through my art, I hope to shine a light on these incredible animals and encourage others to take action to protect them.

As I step into this new chapter with my custom socks, I carry with me a deep sense of purpose. It’s not just about creating beautiful and unique items; it’s about using my art to make a difference. Every pair of socks, every pattern, and every design is a small but meaningful step towards raising awareness and fostering a deeper connection with the natural world.

So, here’s to stylish socks, endless creativity, and a commitment to protecting our planet and its inhabitants. I’m excited to share this journey with you and can’t wait to see where it leads. Let’s keep creating, repurposing, and making a positive impact—one pair of socks at a time.

Feel free to share your thoughts, ideas, and what you’re most excited about for the future. Let’s continue to inspire and support each other in our creative endeavors and our efforts to protect the environment.
