These delightful eight-legged acrobats are part of my ongoing quest to make the uncommon common. Adapted from my Uncommon Animals of the Alphabet kids’ book, these spiders are leaping straight from the page and into your living room—or rather, onto your digital wall art collection. My aim is simple: take these rarely talked-about creatures and inject them into everyday life, making them impossible to ignore. Why? Because when you talk about something enough, you start to care about it. And when you care about something, you just might fight for it.

These creatures, humble as they are, represent something far greater: the delicate ecosystems they inhabit and the importance of keeping those environments intact. If a jumping spider can spark a conversation or an appreciation, even in the form of digital wallpaper, then my work here is done (well, partly done—let’s not get carried away).
While I’m here advocating for the jumping spider, let’s take a moment to talk about the environment we, as humans, have crafted for ourselves. On paper, life has never been easier. Food can be delivered at the touch of a button. Friends and family are always a text away. You can Google literally anything.
Yet somehow, it’s never been harder to be a thriving artist or a deep creative thinker. Welcome to the modern world, where our attention spans have been surgically reduced by the unholy trinity of smart devices, sugar, and coffee. Yes, coffee—I said it. Don’t @ me.
We live in a reality where notifications prey on our focus, algorithms shove shiny distractions in our faces, and every five minutes, we’re being sold something (ironically, including this blog post about my NFTs). For creatives like us, the modern world is both a blessing and a curse. It’s like being given the most powerful toolbox ever invented, but with one condition: you can only use it if you can resist the urge to scroll reels for three hours.
The creatives who can resist the distractions, who can discipline themselves against the siren call of sugar highs and viral memes, are the ones who will thrive. While the rest of the world is busy debating the best Marvel movie, you could be creating something… anything.
The tools at our fingertips are nothing short of miraculous. Take NFTs, for instance. Love them or hate them, they’re a game-changer for artists. They allow us to bypass the gatekeepers and take our work directly to an audience. But the catch? You need focus. You need drive. You need to resist falling down a rabbit hole of YouTube recommendations.
While everyone else is distracted, the disciplined artist has the opportunity of a lifetime. There’s never been a better time to win as a creative. But you have to choose to step out of the chaos and into the stillness of your work.
And that’s what this Jumping Spider NFT represents for me. It’s not just digital wallpaper; it’s a statement. It’s a tiny beacon of hope for the spiders of the world and for the artists who are brave enough to sit down, focus, and create.
So, go ahead, grab one of these limited editions while you can. Not just because it’s rare or because it’s trendy, but because it’s a reminder. A reminder to pause. To care about something real, even if it’s small and green and has eight eyes.
And if you’re an artist reading this, know that your focus is your superpower. Let the world be distracted. While they’re busy looking away, you’ve got the tools to build something extraordinary.
