“Filling the Void” is part of my visual dream journal, a surreal exploration of the unconscious mind. Created in a pen and ink illustration style using AI, this piece captures the eerie and unsettling landscapes of my dreams—visions that seem to exist in the same liminal space as AI itself. There’s something uncanny about how AI-generated art mirrors the dream world, where logic dissolves, and the subconscious takes control.
My dreams tend to be dark and disturbing, or at least, those are the ones I remember. Perhaps my monkey mind prioritises, storing them for survival, a primitive instinct that still lurks within us all. This piece, with its stark contrast of a man calmly refuelling a vintage car while a monstrous tornado looms behind him, reflects that strange duality—the mundane against the apocalyptic, the controlled against the uncontrollable. And of course, the eternal lesson: always keep a full tank of petrol!
