My Visual Dream Journal – Day 5

– New Beginnings –

Sometimes a new beginning does not arrive quietly. Sometimes it arrives like a storm through an open window, tearing apart the rooms we thought we understood and leaving us standing in the middle of the mess, wondering what comes next.

This visualisation from my Dream Journal is called New Beginnings. It explores that strange moment between what has ended and what has not yet begun. The moment where everything feels uncertain, but underneath the chaos there is the possibility of something completely different growing.

We often imagine transformation as a clean process. We imagine one chapter closing neatly and another opening with perfect timing. But real change is rarely that organised. It is messy, uncomfortable and sometimes feels like everything has been knocked over before we understand why.

If this piece connects with someone deeply enough, it can then be brought into the physical world through a commission. I can take that digital idea and transform it by hand into an original scratchboard artwork created in my studio (the dinner table)

This is a different way of creating. The artwork exists first, and the physical piece is made when it has found a home. Instead of producing endless objects and hoping they find someone, the creation begins with the connection.

Every dream is a seed. Some remain digital, waiting for the right person to discover them. Others grow into something physical, carrying with them the story of the person who helped bring them into the world.

Maybe that is what every new beginning really is. Not the end of what came before, but the moment when something hidden finally gets the chance to grow.
