What if the greatest discoveries of humanity are not ahead of us, but buried underneath the stories we have forgotten? Listening to Graham Hancock has definitely left an impression on how I look at the past, not because I have all the answers, but because it makes me question how much human history has been lost, ignored or dismissed because it doesn’t fit the story we have been comfortable telling ourselves.
Maybe those burning posts represent every time humanity has destroyed a piece of itself. Libraries burned, cultures erased, knowledge lost because it became inconvenient. Every civilisation leaves behind fragments for the next one to discover, and one day our own symbols will be buried too. The question is not whether history survives forever, but whether what we leave behind was worth remembering.
